The History
Hotel Europa is located in a XVI century mansion in the heart of the Estense city. In 1849 it was called Grand Hotel d’Europe, the most important one of Ferrara. You can breathe the allure of the distinguished past of this building in the rooms that face the main street of the city: frescoed ceilings, terracotta tile floors and antique furniture. In a completely frescoed drawing room you can admire some precious paintings; among them the picture of Napoléon and Joséphine, that is said to be the Emperor’s gift to the owner to thank him for the hospitality. If you ask at the reception desk you can read the famous signatures register where you find the original signatures of the renowned guests who stayed in Hotel Europa. (Giuseppe Verdi, Arturo Toscanini, Richard Strauss, Alexandre Dumas, Emile Zola, Gabriele D’Annunzio, Metternich, Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia and others). Since 1911 the hotel has been belonging to Paparelli-Serra family that today manages both the Hotel and the Caffé Europa. Tradition and Modernity merge today harmoniously in an only one reality.

Fresh and Varied Products
The buffet breakfast is varied and plentiful and it is included in the room rate. A special awakening with fresh pastries with fillings, cakes, cookies, savouries and other bakery products prepared every morning by Caffè Europa, close to the hotel. Marmalades, chocolate, fresh and canned fruit, cereals, ham, cheese, eggs, different kind of blends of tea, American coffee but also cappuccino and caffe’ espresso Illy.

Caffè Europa Catering organizes coffee breaks, brunches, aperitifs, dinners and parties for groups inside the hotel. Moreover, our Guests can choose among different nice restaurants or pizzerie, close to the hotel; some of them also grant discounts to you.
